We’re Saving the Leeper-Wyatt Building!

Friends! With the incredible collaboration of people and organizations, we’re going to be saving an historic landmark! On October 16, 2023, Charlotte’s City Council voted in favor to re-zone our property at Leluia Hall (former Bonterra space) to make way for the historic Leeper Wyatt building to move into our parking lot.

It has been an extraordinary endeavor and would not be possible without the incredible teamwork and vision of architects, engineers, the Dilworth Community Association, City Council (including our Rep Dante Anderson and Mayor Pro-Tem Braxton Winston), the Historic Landmarks Commission, the Historic District Commission and YOU! Thank you for all the letters to the city in support! We are grateful for everyone’s time, passion and attention on this project.

A little more about the project…

The Leeper Wyatt structure was built in 1903 and is the oldest standing commercial brick building in Southend. It was designated as an historic landmark and it is slated to be torn down as part of a development project.

We look forward to sharing more with you soon… we have a building to move 800 feet, and it’s gonna take a lotta hands to make that happen. Stay tuned, and thank you for your ongoing support!

Warmly,

Jeff, Jamie and the Tonidandel-Brown Restaurant Team
